Wow, 20 years of publishing the Denver Urban Spectrum has come and gone. Where did the time go?

I want to thank everyone who came to our historical photo shoot Sunday, March 18. It waws great to see the support and feel the love from everyone at this special occasion. I want to send a special thanks to Mayor John Hickenlooper and former Mayor Wellington E. Webb for attending. The Spectrum would not have been possible over the last 20 years without our readers, contributors, subscribers, advertisers, suppliers, community supporters, and of course, our friends and family.

Veteran Spectrum writer Wayne Trujillo takes us through the life and times of the paper, and a few DUS contributors lend their thoughts on "What the Denver Urban Spectrum Means To Us." Also this month, we asked several candidates vying for the upcoming seats of Clerk and Recorder and for Denver City Council a few quesions to help familiarize you, our readers, with them and their platforms. Tanya Ishikawa takes a serious look at the changing demographics in Districts 8 and 11 and how these changes may affect election results today and in the future. Denver also got a visit from 2008 presidential candidate Barack Obama. Interim managing editor Karon Majeel describes his campaign speech in her words and through her eyes.

Thank you again for your continued love and support for the Denver Urban Spectrum, and we hope to see you at our big 20th anniversary celebration in August. We're planning something special for everyone.

Happy reading, and don't forget to get your ballots in the mail in time to count!
